Tree Board

The Ketchikan Gateway Borough is a Tree City USA as administered by the Arbor Day Foundation.

It is the Tree Board's Mission to protect the public health, safety, and general welfare by providing public education and guidelines for the planting, maintenance, and removal of publicly owned trees, shrubs, and other plants within the Ketchikan Gateway Borough.

Activities undertaken by the Tree Board include overseeing the Borough tree inventory program, and the annual observance of Arbor Day on the third Monday of every May, which is celebrated by planting new trees.
