The Public Works Department for the Ketchikan Gateway Borough is responsible for the oversight and management of the design, construction and maintenance of all properties, grounds, structures and facilities for the Borough and its Service Areas; maintenance and administration of the community’s parks, playgrounds, and playfields; implementation of the nonareawide sewer code, including maintenance and operation of the Forest Park and South Tongass public wastewater collection and treatment systems; and maintenance and operation of the water system in the South Tongass Service Area.
