Fire and EMS Services for the South Tongass Service Area, including the City of Saxman, continue to be provided by staff of the South Tongass Volunteer Fire Department.
Due to the fire affecting the South Tongass Fire Station, the South Tongass Fire Department responders are now stationed at City of Ketchikan Fire Station One in downtown Ketchikan.
The City of Ketchikan has provided an ambulance for use by the South Tongass Fire Department.
