Bus+ ADA Paratransit & Senior Transportation 

Bus+ is the Borough's ADA Paratransit and Senior Transportation service offered by the Transit Department, providing origin-to-destination transportation for customers who are unable to use the fixed route service or are over the age of 65. Priority is given to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) eligible customers.

Please note that all Borough Transit Buses, not just paratransit vehicles, are ADA accessible. Since Bus+ services are in high demand, individuals are strongly encouraged to use the regular fixed route bus service whenever possible (show your ADA card and Ride Free!).

People seeking to qualify on the basis of their disability must go through the Borough's ADA eligibility process or provide a valid ADA Paratransit Card from another transit agency in the USA. An eligibility application for an ADA card can be obtained from the link below, emailing transit@kgbak.us or by calling Transit at 907-225-TRAN (8726)

Service Hours

Bus+ service operates the same days and hours of service as The Bus (fixed route).

Service is available within city limits from about 5:15 am to 9:15 pm, including the airport. Outside the city limits about 5:30 am to 7:15 pm.

There is no service on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day

Reservations

Rides on the Bus+ service can be scheduled the day before the trip or up to 14 days in advance.

All reservations should be made through the Transit Office at 907-225-8726.

The reservations can be made 7 days a week Monday-Sunday from 8:00am-5:00pm.
